EDITORIAL POLICY
How we keep Onward useful and responsible.
Reviewed 14 October 2026.
1. Purpose
Onward is an editorial publication about physical wellbeing, movement, recovery, and routines for adult men. We aim to make information understandable without overstating certainty or creating pressure.
2. Independence
Editors decide what to publish based on relevance, clarity, and public usefulness. Commercial relationships, where they exist, must not purchase a favorable editorial conclusion. Conflicts should be disclosed and managed.
3. Evidence and context
Writers are encouraged to consult reliable public sources and explain limitations. We avoid turning a single account into a universal rule. Claims are reviewed for whether the language is proportionate to the support behind them.
4. Language
We do not use shame, fear, or exaggerated promises to attract attention. We explain unfamiliar terms, avoid stereotypes, and recognize differences in age, culture, access, and routine.
5. Contributors
Contributors should provide original work and respect privacy. Personal stories are edited for clarity and may be declined when they make unsupported universal claims or reveal another person’s private information.
6. Corrections
Readers can report a factual error through the contact page. We assess the report, correct material when warranted, and add a dated note when the change is meaningful. We do not quietly alter a material conclusion without review.
7. Images
Images should provide honest visual context and include descriptive alternative text. They should not imply that a pictured person represents every reader or that a particular result is guaranteed.
8. Safety
Articles must state relevant limits where general information could be misunderstood as personal direction. Writers should encourage readers to pause and seek appropriate local support when circumstances are concerning or persistent.
9. Advertising
Paid material must be labeled and separated from independent editorial content. We do not publish promotional claims that conflict with our informational tone or invite readers to make decisions through urgency.
10. Governance
The editorial desk operates from Jalan Thamrin No. 10, Menteng, Central Jakarta, DKI Jakarta 10310, Indonesia. Questions may be sent to +62 813 7489 2560. We maintain a record of substantive editorial revisions.
11. Revision history
This policy was reviewed on 14 October 2026. A 01 October 2026 revision clarified contributor privacy and advertising separation. The next review will consider reader feedback and changes to the site.
Review, records, and reader feedback
Editorial decisions are recorded through ordinary working notes, source links, contributor correspondence, and dated correction records. A reader may ask why a passage was changed, report a factual concern, or identify a missing context through the contact page. We normally acknowledge a report within five business days and assess a factual correction within 15 business days.
Correction correspondence is normally retained for up to 24 months after closure. Source notes and publication records may be retained for as long as needed to explain a published decision, while security logs are generally retained for up to 90 days. Access is limited to the editorial, technical, and support people who need it for the stated purpose.
Contributors should disclose relevant commercial relationships, permissions, and personal interests before publication. Sponsored or affiliate material is labeled separately under the advertising policy, and a commercial relationship does not determine an editorial conclusion. Images are checked for licensing, honest context, and descriptive alternative text before use.
We recognize that public information can be incomplete and that cultural context matters. Writers are encouraged to distinguish observation from assertion, explain uncertainty, and avoid language that pressures or stigmatizes readers. Where a page concerns a changing topic, the publication date and review date should help readers understand its context.

Editorial process in practice
The policy applies to articles, interviews, field notes, images, captions, newsletters, corrections, sponsored disclosures, and material supplied by contributors. Editors consider the intended audience, source quality, date, context, wording, accessibility, and whether a statement could be read more broadly than the available support allows.
Source notes may include public institutions, published research, direct observations, contributor correspondence, and links checked during preparation. A source can become outdated or contain limitations, so writers should explain uncertainty rather than present one account as a universal rule. When a reader supplies a correction, the desk records the page, claim, source offered, review date, and decision.
Commercial material is reviewed separately from independent editorial work. A sponsor may review factual details about its own service where appropriate, but may not purchase a conclusion or remove a material limitation. Advertising correspondence and disclosure records are normally retained for 24 months after the relevant placement, while technical security records may remain for up to 90 days.
Contributors should confirm authorship, permissions, and the right to share any image, quotation, or personal story. We avoid publishing private information about another person without a clear editorial reason and appropriate permission. Personal stories are framed as individual experiences and are not presented as evidence of a general outcome.
Correction reports are acknowledged within five business days and normally assessed within 15 business days. A meaningful correction receives a dated note where practical, while minor spelling or formatting changes may be made without a public note. Readers can contact the desk through the contact page or at +62 813 7489 2560.
